Officers responded at 2:22 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, to a residence in the 1800 block of Zehm Avenue for a report that a juvenile female had assaulted her mother with a brick. The juvenile suspect was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for evaluation. The victim said her daughter attacked her during an argument at their residence. The juvenile damaged property inside the residence, pulled her hair and punched her repeatedly, and struck her with a brick.

Officers responded at 4:33 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, with a Children’s Division caseworker to a residence in the 600 block of North D Street to investigate a child abuse/neglect report stating a child had been abused. After speaking with the family, it was determined the report was unfounded.

Rashad Karim reported at 4:39 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, his car was struck by a truck on North Westwood Boulevard. The truck parked at Drury Inn and the driver went inside, but hotel staff could not determine which room the driver was in. The company that owned the truck provided driver and insurance information for the accident report.

Sarah Taylor, 18, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 6:14 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, at Krabby Daddy’s restaurant at 2201 N. Westwood Blvd. Taylor was booked on a charge of violation of a protection order and lodged in the Butler County jail.

Officers responded at 7:33 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, to a residence in the 1900 block of Garfield Street for a domestic assault. Two adult males each reported they were assaulted by the other during an argument at their residence. The two separated and the matter was referred to the prosecutor for review of charges.

Loren Johnson, 55, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 11:39 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, behind the Medicine Shoppe at 200 N. 10th St. Johnson was booked on a Randolph County, Arkansas warrant for probation violation and lodged in the Butler County jail.
