Six people were injured, three seriously, in a pair of accidents Wednesday on area roads, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The first accident occurred at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. 67 in Neelyville.

According to the MSHP, Jill A. Foster, 64, of Corning, Arkansas was operating a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan northbound when it ran off the road and struck the corner of a house.

Foster was seriously injured and was transported by Air Evac to St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. A passenger in her vehicle, James Foster, 58, of Corning, Ark., also was seriously injured and was transported by EMS to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Butler County Firefighters responded to the scene to assist in preparing the victims for transport.

The second accident occurred at 7:02 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. Highway 60, five miles east of Ellsinore.

According to the MSHP, Raymundo M. Martinez, 47, of Jacksonville, Texas was operating a 2017 GMC Sierra westbound when it failed to yield and rear-ended a westbound 1994 Chevrolet 1500 operated by Thomas E. Waldon, 23, of Ellsinore.

Martinez was seriously injured, while three passengers in Waldon’s vehicle — Alana Carpenter-Epperson, 47, of Ellsinore, a 14-year old female from Ellsinore and a 13-year-old male from Ellsinore — sustained minor injuries. All four were taken by East Carter Ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
