Raymond W. Smith, 91, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri died Aug. 11, 2023 at his home surrounded by family. He was born Oct. 4, 1931, to Charles Leo and Bertha Delaney Smith at Neelyville, Missouri. Mr. Smith was a graduate of Neelyville high School where he excelled at playing basketball. In 1950, he married Lucille Johnson and together they raised five children. In 1965, they began Smith Mobile Homes which is still a thriving business today...

Raymond W. Smith, 91, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri died Aug. 11, 2023 at his home surrounded by family. He was born Oct. 4, 1931, to Charles Leo and Bertha Delaney Smith at Neelyville, Missouri.

Mr. Smith was a graduate of Neelyville high School where he excelled at playing basketball. In 1950, he married Lucille Johnson and together they raised five children. In 1965, they began Smith Mobile Homes which is still a thriving business today.

On April 14, 1988, he married Hazel Daniel of Double Springs, Alabama, who survives.

Other survivors include: sons, Charles David Smith and Wilbert H. (Rita) Smith; daughter, Linda (Van) Murray; stepson William (Helen) Alexander; grandchildren, Talisha (Jake) Scott, Peggy (Derek) Kelley, Ginnifer Jobgen, Amanda (Scott) Smith, Dustin R. Smith, Clinton (Heather) Smith, Kate (Justin) Fanning, Ryan (Amanda) Smith, Katrina Smith, David Smith, Wade Smith, Wyatt Smith, Dalton (Shayla) Alexander, Daniel Alexander, Emilee (Nathan) Brewer, and Chance Smith; 26 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Lee Smith and Raymond Leon Smith; five brother, Charles Taze Smith, Amos Leroy Smith, Odes Smith, Wilbert Smith, and Kenneth Ray Smith; four sisters, Grace Ashby, Lydia Poglajen, Goldie Meyer, and Pauline Gallion.

Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023, at Kinsey Cemetery, Harviell, Missouri. There will also be a memorial service at Double Springs, Alabama. Date pending.
