In this week’s MAIN EVENT, readers are encouraged to take time for a little R&R at a mobile petting zoo, a memorial golf tournament and a free archery tag night.

The Stars and Stripes Museum and Library will host Cock-a-Doodle Moo Mobile Petting Zoo from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Families in attendance will also get to learn the history of animals during wartime. The museum is located in Bloomfield.

In Poplar Bluff, the Matt Thurmon Memorial Golf Tournament tees off at 11:30 a.m. to honor the memory of a local golfer and benefit Dexter Public Schools athletics. The tournament is a four-person scramble at Hidden Trails Country Club in Dexter.

If golf isn’t your speed, Top Shot Archery Tag in Poplar Bluff is holding a free play night starting at 5 p.m. Saturday. Top Shot describes the game as an exhilarating cross between archery and dodgeball with foam-tipped arrows and plenty of adrenaline. Instructors will be on hand to guide new players.
