William Coleman
William Clarence Coleman, 95, of Williamsville, Missouri, passed away peacefully in his home Thursday, July 20, 2023.
Mr. Coleman was born Sept. 15, 1927, in Shook, Missouri, son of the late Ira and Rosie Coleman. He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, working in his shop, traveling, and sharing his traveling experiences with family and friends. He was known to be able to repair almost anything.
Clarence worked for the City of Poplar Bluff for 40 years, retiring in 1990 as the water plant supervisor.
On April 28, 1949, he married Maxine Verlee Stevenson. They had three children: Dewayne (Trudy) Coleman of Williamsville, Steven (Karen) Coleman of Poplar Bluff, Mike (Shelia) Coleman of Williamsville, and six grandchildren: Andrea Jones, Carrie (Jeremy) Booker, Marcus and Maci Coleman, Brad and Kirby Coleman and four great-grandchildren.
Maxine preceded in death April 5 1993. On Jan. 1, 1994 he married Hazel Belle Hicks. She survives along with four children by marriage: Tony (Jackie) Gale, Lester ( Kelly) Gale, Neal Gale, and Laura Gale and 10 grandchildren by marriage, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-greatgrandchildren.
He is also survived by two sisters: Mary Helen Tackett and Audrey Marie Hicks.
He was also preceded in death by one sister: Elsie Daniels; one brother: John Coleman; and one stepson: Rodney Gale.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Brown Chapel Cemetery in Broseley with Rev. Gene Riddle officiating. Burial will be in Brown Chapel Cemetery at Broseley, Missouri Memorial contributions may be made to Oak Hill General Baptist Church.
