Officers responded to the Fifth Street overpass at 8:43 a.m. Thursday, June 29, for a report of an adult female suffering a mental health crisis. The victim was taken to the emergency room for evaluation.

Jimmy Hovis, 55, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 9:34 a.m. Thursday, June 29, during a traffic stop on South Fifth Street. Hovis was booked in on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, and Poplar Bluff Municipal warrants for failure to appear on traffic offenses. He was lodged in the Butler County jail.

William King reported at 10:29 a.m. Thursday, June 29, a riding mower was stolen from his residence in the 900 block of Delano Street. The mower was later recovered at a residence in the 1500 block of Truman Street, and it was returned to King.

An employee at Harbor Freight reported at 10:48 a.m. Thursday, June 29, an adult female and juvenile male stole merchandise from a shelf and ran from the store. The theft was captured on surveillance video.

Christine Wilson, 42, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 1:29 p.m. Thursday, June 29, at Ross Dress for Less, 2480 Oak Grove Road. Wilson was booked in on a charge of stealing and she was released pending review by the Butler County Prosecutor.

Officers responded at 4:46 p.m. Thursday, June 29, to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 600 block of Sanders Street. No injury was reported and no charges were filed.

Bobbie Conner, 38, of Poplar Bluff was booked at 5:11 p.m. Thursday, June 29, in on Poplar Bluff Municipal warrants for failure to appear on code violations. Conner was unable to post bond and she was released on her own recognizance.

Taylor Phillips, 22, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 5:37 p.m. Thursday, June 29, at Walmart Neighborhood Market. Phillips was booked in on a charge of stealing and she was released on a criminal summons.

Jeremy Arnold, 42, of Steelville was arrested at 1:55 a.m. Thursday, June 29, at Kyle’s Wash Park at 2944 North Westwood Blvd. Arnold was booked in on a Stoddard County warrant for failure to appear on driving while revoked. He was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Leslie Goldsmith, 43, of Wappapello was arrested at 5:24 a.m. Friday, June 30, at Poplar Bluff Mini Storage at 251 Highway 53. Goldsmith was booked in a charge of property damage first degree and a Poplar Bluff Municipal warrant for failure to appear on a traffic offense. He was lodged in the Butler County jail.
