A 4-H at the Lake event is scheduled to take place from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10. The deadline to secure a spot for this event is July 25. It will be held at the visitors center located at Lake Wappapello. Kim Allison, 4-H youth program associate, said the event will include various engaging activities such as birdhouse painting, fishing, archery, wilderness survival and water safety. Additionally, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Stoddard County EMS will be present at the site to deliver presentations. The kids in attendance will also have the opportunity to enjoy a pontoon ride during this event.
The cost of participation for active members is $25, and both snacks and lunch will be provided for all attendees. Children aged 8 and above can be either dropped off or accompanied to the event.
