No Poplar Bluff R-1 students were injured in a Thursday afternoon accident involving a district school bus, said school Director of Transportation Jon McKinney
According to McKinney, the accident occurred at the Highway PP roundabout at Township Line Road.
“We had a small number of elementary students still left on the bus,” McKinney said. ”Every student was checked out by EMTs. There were no injuries to any students.”
“There was a vehicle that crossed the centerline that struck the bus just before the back tires,” McKinney said.
While there was damage to the bus, it was drivable and was driven back to the bus garage.
“It had minimal damage and did not have to be towed,” McKinney said.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Poplar Bluff police officers were on the scene.
“We appreciate the EMTs showing up and the law enforcement officers who were onsite did an excellent job and are greatly appreciated,” McKinney said.
