An employee at Rent One at 109 S. Westwood Blvd. reported at 7 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, a customer stole two rented game consoles.

An employee at Poplar Bluff High School reported at 8 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, nine THC vape devices were found in the possession of a juvenile student. The investigation determined the student purchased the devices from another student in the gym. The juveniles were released to their respective parents, and the matter was referred to the juvenile office.

The property manager at South Pointe Apartments in the 3100 block of S. Westwood Blvd. reported at 8:19 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, a former tenant trespassed on apartment grounds.

An employee at Rent 2 Go at 605 Highway 53 reported at 10:06 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, a customer failed to return a rented car. It was later determined the car was towed from the scene of a motor vehicle collision May 15.

Caeden Nely reported at 1:27 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, a juvenile male vandalized his truck while it was parked at Sonic Drive-In. The juvenile was transported to the juvenile office where he was released to a parent.

Officers responded at 2:21 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 1100 block of N. Main St. A juvenile female reported her younger sister assaulted her, flourished a knife, and threatened to kill her. The victim was taken to a shelter at the direction of a caseworker, and the matter was referred to the juvenile office.

Melissa Trice, 42, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 4:31 p.m. Tuesday, May 16 on South 10 Street. Trice was booked in on Poplar Bluff municipal warrants for failure to appear on stealing and a Butler County warrant for leaving the scene of an accident. She was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Carl Burks, 57, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 8:53 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, at Jay’s Corner Store at 1040 S. Broadway. Burks was booked in on a Butler County warrant for probation violation, $20,000 cash-only bond. He was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Robert Ethridge, 22, of Poplar Bluff was booked at 3:40 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, at the police department on a Poplar Bluff municipal warrant for failure to appear on no seat belt, $500 bond. Ethridge was unable to post bond, and he was released on his own recognizance.
