Billy Swanson, 47, of Poplar Bluff was taken into custody at 12:50 p.m. Sunday, May 14, at his residence in the 1900 block of North Fifth Street. Swanson was booked on multiple Poplar Bluff municipal warrants, including failure to appear on two counts of shoplifting and a traffic offense. He was later released on bond.

William Hughes, 48, of Bertrand was arrested at 2:43 p.m. Sunday, May 14, on South Main Street on a charge of first-degree property damage, a Stoddard County warrant for failure to appear on a traffic offense with a bond of $2,500, a Miner municipal warrant for failure to appear on a traffic offense with a cash-only bond of $150 and a Poplar Bluff municipal warrant for failure to appear on a traffic offense with a bond of $294. Hughes was taken to the Butler County jail.

Following a short vehicle pursuit, a juvenile male was arrested at 7:38 p.m. Sunday, May 14, on Lexington Avenue. The juvenile was issued tickets for traffic offenses and subsequently released to a guardian at the police department.

Authorities responded to a domestic disturbance call at 10:10 p.m. on Sunday, May 14. The incident took place at a residence in the 800 block of Bristo Street. No injuries were reported and no charges were filed.

An adult female reported a home invasion at 1:29 a.m. Monday, May 15. She stated that her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend forced their way into her residence, assaulted her and stole her cell phone and bag.
