Brandon Vancil, Kade McBroom and Bobby King won positions on the Twin Rivers School Board during Tuesday’s elections.

Vancil received the most votes with 291, McBroom was a close second with 286 votes and finally, Bobby King filled the third vacancy with 260 votes. Votes were counted from Butler and Stoddard counties.

King is a barber at Boss Hoggs Barber Lounge, as well as a property manager at King Design LLC. He is married to Latashia King and they have four children.

King said he thinks the district is headed in a good direction.

“My whole statement the entire time was I’d just like to help man the ship and get us where we need to be,” he said. “We’ve got a lot of good things coming up and I think we can get them accomplished.”

McBroom is an area farmer. He is married to Shana McBroom and they have three children.

“I’m pretty excited, really happy,” said McBroom. “I really appreciate everybody that voted for me. Every candidate in the race was a very high-quality candidate, so I was very appreciative that I got enough votes to win.”

McBroom said he didn’t come in with any set agenda.

“I just came in with the intentions to serve the school and the community and try to help out however I could,” he said.

Brandon Vancil has 22 years of experience as an electronic technician for Union Pacific Railroad. He and his wife Corey have three children.

Vancil was not available for comment after the election results.

Candidates also running for the seat were incumbent Josh Johnson and Jennifer Morse. They received 232 and 152 respectively.
