The 2023 Missouri USA Gymnastics Advanced State Championship is coming to the Black River Coliseum from Friday, March 31 through Sunday, April 2. Approximately 900 gymnasts ages 7-17 will converge on Poplar Bluff to compete.

“Gymnasts all over the state of Missouri compete throughout the season, and they have to attain a qualifying score to earn their spot at the state championship,” said Jessica Walker-Luce, owner of Xtreme Gymnastics and Missouri USA Gymnastics committee member.

This number includes 13 Poplar Bluff gymnasts who qualified by winning silver and gold medals this year.

“These kids work hard all year long, so we just want to highlight them and celebrate them, and just make it an experience that they’ll remember for the rest of their lives,” Walker-Luce said.

Doors open at 7:40 a.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and the first sessions begin at 8:20 a.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children over 5 years old. Children under 5 get in free. Tickets must be purchased at the door.

The event program and more information are available at mousagym.org/calendar.html.
