Wound and Hyperbaric Specialist Maxine Theriot, M.D., UHM/ABPM, F-APWCA, F-AAFP, has joined the medical staff of Regional Physician Services at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Theriot is board certified in family medicine and preventive medicine sub-specialty in undersea and hyperbaric medicine, and brings more than 25 years of experience to the medical group. She previously held the medical director role at Baylor Scott & White Comprehensive Wound Center at Las Colinas in Irving, Texas; under her leadership, the wound center achieved accreditation from the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society. She was also instrumental in helping the CHRISTUS Wound Care Center in Tyler, Texas, attain the same distinction while medical director there.

Dr. Theriot graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Lina, California and completed her family practice residency at the Methodist Charlton Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. She continued with International ATMO Hyperbaric team training in San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. Theriot will join the practice of Regional Physician Services and accept patients in the Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center at PBRMC. Her areas of expertise include wound healing for bone infections, diabetic foot and leg wounds, ischemic, pressure and venous insufficiency ulcers; wounds associated with radiation therapy, chronic non-healing wounds and other skin conditions such as traumatic injury, burns and more.

Dr. Theriot and her husband, Maurice, are both master gardeners and looking forward to living in Missouri. They have two adult children and a dog named Kemo-Sabe. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, walking, teaching and traveling.
