Patrick Hamilton Pickens, 72, of Fisk, Missouri, died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023, at St. Francis Medical Center, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Mr. Pickens was born Feb. 16, 1951, in Stockton, Kansas, to Hamilton “Pat” Pickens and Betty Ruth Gregory Pickens.
He served in the Army in the Vietnam War from 1969-1972.
On December 18, 1973, he married Dorothy “Dottie” Long Pickens. She preceded him in death on May 5, 2017.
Surviving are five children: Arthur “Frankie” Nelson, Lisa Boggs, Angela Pickens, John Lindahl (Angel Rosson) Pickens, and Alyssa “Alice” (Ray Bradshaw) Pickens; two grandchildren: Joseph Magill and Jake White; two sisters: Terry (Joe) McLean and Deb Pickens; special friends: Ab Manis and Angie Powers; and countless other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: “Pat” and Patty Pickens and Betty and Bill Hanks; three siblings: Lindahl Pickens, Nancy Kurz, and Glenda Hanks.
A committal service with military honors will be at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield. There will be a celebration of life beginning at 6 p.m. Friday at the Thousand Hills Cowboy Church in Fisk with Curtis Hunter and Randy Lingenfelter officiating.
