__Poplar Bluff Fire Department__
Firefighters were notified at 6:36 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, of an unauthorized burn at the intersection of Woodrow and Hays streets by Battalion Chief Jeffrey L. Hale.
According to Capt. Justin D. Moyers’ report, they found a small unauthorized burn behind 1909 Woodrow St. The three-member crew used a rake and a gallon of water to extinguish the fire in 28-degree temperatures while it was sleeting and snowing.

Firefighters responded to an unauthorized fire in a burn barrel at 1112 W. Harper St. at 10:33 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30.
According to Battalion Chief Jeffrey L. Hale’s report, the three firefighters used 20 gallons of water in 21-degree temperatures while it was sleeting and snowing to put out the fire.

Firefighters responded at 11:53 p.m. Jan. 30 to assist Butler County EMS gain entry into Brent Tinnin Apartments, 2049 Greenwood Drive.
According to Capt. Kevin D. Edgar’s report, firefighters opened the locked front door of the building so that EMS could enter and tend to a patient.
Poplar Bluff police also were at the scene.

Firefighters responded to a possible stove fire at 1:59 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at apartment 5, 3105 Warrior Lane.
According to Capt. Steven Burkhead’s report, resident Barb Tipton stated it was a small fire in the oven, which she believed was out. All other units were advised to disregard. Fire department personnel checked the stove and monitored it until it cooled down.

The Poplar Bluff Fire Department was dispatched for a structure fire at 1:21 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 902 Henderson Ave. No fire or smoke was showing when they arrived.
According to Battalion Chief Thomas L. Lane, the residents stated there was no fire. Poplar Bluff police arrived on the scene. All units checked the area and found nothing. Dispatch tried the number of the reporting party several times to check the address, but got no answer.
According to Lane ‘s report, four trucks and 10 firefighters responded in 23-degree weather.
