Glen Gillespie was born in Springtown, Missouri and passed away Jan. 26, 2023 at his home in Coldwater, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ethel; daughter, Connie (Butch) Russell of Warrenton, Missouri; grandson, Christoper Russell of Warrenton; granddaughter, Felicia Abbey of Warrenton; sister, Joan McKnight of Doniphan; brother, Robert (Fran) Gillespie of Sullivan, Missouri;
Brothers Lester and Louis Gillespie; sister, Pauline Menson and son, Ronald Gillespie preceded him in death.
Glen grew up on a family farm near Naylor, Missouri. Glen worked at McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis for 34 years. He retired from there and raised cattle on his farm in Coldwater for 34 years. Glen loved the outdoors. He and the family enjoyed many wonderful trips around the U.S. and Canada, fishing, hunting and camping. He especially enjoyed elk hunting in Colorado with his friends and fishing the Lakes of Minnesota with his wife, Ethel.
Visitation, Jan. 30, 2023, starting at noon with funeral following at 1 p.m. all in the Fowler and Sons Funeral Home at Neelyville, Missouri. Burial will be in the Gum Cemetery with John Walker officiating.
