Ruth Estelle Ferguson, 98, of Naylor, Missouri departed this life and journeyed to her heavenly home on Jan. 23, 2023 while living at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Weldon Cox, Jr. Ruth or “Ruby” as she was often called was born on Feb. 8, 1924 at Naylor, Missouri to the late Fred Herbert and Martha Bruner. Ruth Estelle Ferguson, 98, of Naylor, Missouri departed this life and journeyed to her heavenly home on Jan. 23, 2023 while living at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Weldon Cox, Jr.

Ruth or “Ruby” as she was often called was born on Feb. 8, 1924 at Naylor, Missouri to the late Fred Herbert and Martha Bruner. She was one of 12 siblings.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman “Sid” Ferguson. Also preceding her in death were her nine brothers and two sisters, Floyd, Bill, John, Herb, Clifford, Art, Curt, Albert, Marvin “Cleo”, Ethel (Bruner) Sopkup, Jean “Bruner” Tyson. Her eldest daughter, Ruth Ann (Ferguson) Pippin and one great-great-granddaughter Ceila-Blake Ansley Cox and her son-in-law Barney Horrocks.

She is survived by two daughters, three stepchildren, and their families. Daughters, Norma (Ferguson) Horrocks, Pamela (Ferrell) Cox and husband Weldon Cox, Jr. each of Naylor, Missouri; stepchildren, Lisa (Robbie) Frish, Karen (Jim) Patton, and David (Kim) Ferguson. Also, one son-in-law, Kelly Pippin, Along with five grandchildren, Cammy (Brad) Kidd, Sherry (Bruce) Barker, Tracy (Shannon) Hodo, Mark (Rachel) Cox, Amanda (Wesley) Leroux. 16 great grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. and several nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Her life was centered around her love of her church and her grandchildren. Her passion was quilting. One of her greatest pleasures was giving her quilts away to family and friends. Her children and grandchildren were each gifted a special Grandma Ferguson, made with love, quilt. Ruth “Mom and Grandma” Ferguson will be dearly missed and yet rejoiced knowing she is with her Heavenly Father.

Visitation for Mrs. Ferguson will be 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 27, 2023 at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church at Oxly, Missouri. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. in the church. Elder Larry Edwards Sr. officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery with Elder Larry Edwards Sr.. Fowler and Sons Funeral Home of Neelyville, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
