The Poplar Bluff Municipal Library recently celebrated Rubber Ducky Day with crafts, songs and storytime on Friday. Children’s Librarian Connie Roberson passed out rubber duckies to children and discussed bathtime safety with parents. Attendees also channeled their inner artists to make handprint ducks with fingerprint ducklings.
The holiday is inspired by the Sesame Street character Ernie and his beloved bathtime toy. A classic Sesame Street episode named Jan. 13 as Duckie’s birthday, and National Rubber Ducky Day was born.
