The Missouri State Fire Marshal is investigating a structure fire at 615 S. C St., occurring shortly before midnight Sunday.
When Poplar Bluff firefighters arrived, heavy flame were coming out of three sides of single story wood frame structure.
According to the report made by Battalion Chief Stacy Harmon, crews made entry into the front of the structure to do a primary search and to extinguish the fire in the rear area of the building.
Also at the scene were firefighters Austin Armes, Joshua M. Buhler, Kenneth Felts, Lt. Andrew E. Fox, Lt. Jonathan D. Miller, and Capt. Toby Tuggle.
They used 2,000 gallons of water to put out the fire. The thermal imaging camera and ventilation were used.
Since the three on duty crews were fighting the fire, a single callback crew returned to standby at Station 3 for incoming future calls. At the time the report was submitted, the origin of the fire is unknown.
The fire marshal is investigating the blaze since no utilities were on at the structure and the building was not secure.
The Butler County Sheriff’s Department and the Poplar Bluff Police Department were at the scene.
