Juanita Brewington Baxter died Dec. 12, 2022, in Birmingham, Alabama. She was born Nov. 25, 1929, to Robert Lee Brewington and Velma Warren Brewington Scott. She was a graduate of Fisk High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University. She was an active member of First Baptist Church Poplar Bluff for more than 65 years. Juanita Brewington Baxter died Dec. 12, 2022, in Birmingham, Alabama.

She was born Nov. 25, 1929, to Robert Lee Brewington and Velma Warren Brewington Scott. She was a graduate of Fisk High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University. She was an active member of First Baptist Church Poplar Bluff for more than 65 years. She was a member of Valleydale Baptist Church after her move to Birmingham.

Ms. Baxter retired from Commerce Bank in 1994 where she served as an Officer and Branch Manager.

Survivors include a daughter, Sherry Shearin and husband, David, of Birmingham; a granddaughter, Emily McCombs and husband, Timothy, of Birmingham, and a sister, Ada Lee of Springfield, Missouri.

Her parents, sisters Wynette Williams, Sue Jones, Connie Hodge, and brother Robert Brewington preceded her in death.

There will be a private family service at Ash Hill Cemetery at a later date.
