Poplar Bluff officials say a second piece of city-owned property on South Shelby Road will be sold.

The city council voted Monday in closed session to sell the 5.71-acre Lot F for $325,000.

The council previously voted Oct. 28 to sell the 2.44-acre Lot G for $225,000.

Closings for the property have not been finalized, said city manager Matt Winters. Additional information about the sales will be released when they are finalized, he said.

Both votes were unanimous, according to city minutes.

The city had purchased a total of 58 acres of property on South Shelby Road for $1 million. About four acres were used for the police department and 20 acres are located in a floodway.

This property was broken up into five lots for sale, all with Shelby Road access: Lot B – 3 acres; Lot C – 4 acres; Lot E – 10.69 acres; Lot F – 5.71 acres; and Lot G – 2.44 acres.

The acreage was previously put out for bid, with no successful purchasers.
