Neelyville R-IV School will host Tiger Fest 2022 Saturday, Oct. 15, which will offer a day filled with family activities and contests at the school.
“The festival kicks off with a parade at 10 a.m. followed by activities on the school grounds,” said Superintendent Heather Black. “Outside vendors as well as school organizations are invited to set up booths.”
Anyone interested in having a booth may call Jennifer Barker at 573-989-3815 extension 127 for information. Organizers are offering a 10-by-10 booth for $35 this year.
There will be games and food throughout the grounds. Everyone is invited to participate in the parade and all participants should line up at the bus garage at 9:30 a.m. The categories are Best Float, Car, Bike and ATV. Parade winners will be announced from the event stage after the welcoming.
Everyone is invited to show their pets in the Pet Pageant at 11:30 a.m. The pet may be dressed or not, may do a trick or not, may walk or be carried, et cetera.
Students pre-kindergarten through 12th grade are invited to participate in the Halloween Costume Contest at 12:30 p.m. The Pumpkin Contest is pre-kindergarten through sixth grade and consists of submitting a decorated pumpkin based on a favorite book and character.
The day will conclude with Neelyville Student Representatives choosing Mr. and Miss Tiger Fest 2022 at 1 p.m.
Each class and organization in grades 7-12 name their representatives for Mr. and Miss Tiger Fest. They are presented on stage wearing a sash naming the class or group. Each one introduces him or herself and answers a question. The selection is based on grades, poise and other criteria.
Mr. and Miss Junior High Tiger Fest and Mr. and Miss Senior High Tiger Fest will be named as well as first runners up and second runners up. The Mr. and Miss winners receive $50, first runner up $25 and second runner up $15.
