Amanda Tippen, 39, of Poplar Bluff reported at 10:14 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3, her car was stolen by a male acquaintance after they left Mike’s Resale, 1015 East Harper St. During the investigation it was determined that Tippen had an outstanding warrant and was booked on a Butler County warrant for burglary. She was lodged in the Butler County jail.

An employee at Walmart Supercenter reported at 1:56 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, a white female who was previously banned from the property for stealing was trespassing in the store. The female was detained and released pending review of charges.

An employee at Academy Sports reported at 2:32 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, a white male and white female stole merchandise and concealed it in a purse. Both suspects were banned from Academy Sports property.

Jeffrey Mitchem, 34, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 3:08 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, on McKinley and Thomas streets on a Butler County warrant for speeding. He was booked into the Butler County jail.

Jessica Harrison, 36, of Poplar Bluff was booked at 3:14 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, on a Poplar Bluff Municipal warrant for failure to appear on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Harrison, who was unable to post bond, was released on her own recognizance.

An employee at Harbor Freight reported at 3:14 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, a white male stole a plasma cutter and fled the scene in black Toyota SUV.

Tyler Miles, 26, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 4:01 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at Dunham’s Sports, 763 N. Westwood Blvd., on a Butler County warrant for burglary first degree. He was booked into the Butler County jail.

Ralph Effler, 71, of Poplar Bluff was cited at 5:56 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, on suspicion of peace disturbance after an acquaintance reported Effler threatened to shoot him.

Lyn Alexander, 53, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 10:51 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, during a traffic stop on North Sixth Street on charges of driving while suspended or revoked, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Butler County jail.
