A 57-year-old Poplar Bluff man has been arrested for child molestation after he allegedly inappropriately touched a child under the age of 14 last month.
Michael Duane Haga, 57, of Poplar Bluff is charged with first-degree child molestation and child endangerment, charges which law enforcement said stem from an ongoing investigation. The investigation is into an alleged incident that occurred in September, according to a press release from Butler County Sheriff’s Department.
Haga allegedly touched the breast and genitals of a child less than 14 years of age, Chief Deputy Wesley Popp said.
Haga later was interviewed by BCSD investigator Brandon Lowe at the Butler County Sheriff‘s Office, at which time Haga allegedly reportedly admitted to touching the victim.
Haga is held in the Butler County jail on $250,000 bond.
