Bobby “Bob” Dean McDonald, 90 of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022 at Mark Twain Nursing Home in Poplar Bluff.
Bob, son of Rube and Ruth Batson McDonald, was born on Sunday, Sept. 11, 1932 in Magness, Arkansas.
He was a deputy sheriff for Dunklin County and later Chief of Police in Malden. He was a member of the New Home General Baptist in Poplar Bluff. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Korean War.
On Sept. 1, 1956 in Risco, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Wood. She preceded him in death on March 16, 2009. He later married Elizabeth Truelove Hanley, on Sept. 3, 2009 in Poplar Bluff. She survives.
Other survivors include daughter, Teresa Keller and husband, Harry, of Cibolo, Texas; two sons, Robby McDonald and wife, Annette, of Chatham, Louisiana, Bobby Dee McDonald and wife, Lula, of Destin, Florida; five grandchildren, Alicia Nicolari (Scott), April Corley (Steven), Katie Minyard, Jason McDonald (Rebecca), Harry Keller, IV (Reyna); seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Terry McDonald and wife, Ann, and Roy McDonald and wife, Carla, all of Malden.
Besides his parents and wife, Bonnie, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Brittany McDonald; three brothers, Lawrence McDonald, William McDonald and Charles McDonald.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022 at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden, with funeral services beginning at noon, with Mr. James Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Rosewood 1st Addition Cemetery in Malden, Missouri.
