On Sunday, Sept. 18, Current River Baptist Church, located on Highway 142 East and County Road 4, will celebrate its 39th anniversary.
Morning service will start at 10:30 a.m. with a special musical concert featuring singer and songwriter Mark Gray.
Following the morning service there will be a potluck luncheon.
Everyone is invited to come and enjoy the celebration.
For almost 40 years Mark Gray has been an active soloist for gospel music. He began traveling full-time at the age of 23 in the gospel music ministry. Mark and his wife Mary, travel 12 months a year all across America singing in some 175 churches, youth camps and Bible colleges. He and his wife are also staff members at Silver Stater Baptist Youth Camp during the summer months. His music has taken him to many foreign countries including trips behind the former “iron curtain”.
During the time Gray has been in full time travel, he has produced more than 50 recordings, many of which are made available wherever he sings. He is also a part of the Silver State Trio. Gray’s music is selected always exalt the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and present the Gospel of saving grace to a lost and dying world, according to information from the church.
