Crystal Doyle is a local artist who came to visit Poplar Bluff in 2011, in 2014 she returned and decided to relocate. Doyle is originally from Quincy, Illinois where she attended college at John Wood Community College and started her art career.

“The big dream would be to have a large studio that I can do art with others in, but also have the gallery space to share their talents,” said Doyle.

Recently Doyle could be found painting the bull outside of Bullwinkles. The owner commissioned Crystal to update the Bullwinkles bull as well as restore some of the items that were salvaged from the recent fire that destroyed the business, “he wanted something Van Gogh style, he showed me some pictures and he told me to kind of just go with it,” said Doyle.

She stated she will be doing some painting in the Bullwinkles building as well. The business is hoping to reopen according to workers there sometime in October.

“I was going to have an art show a couple years ago, then COVID happened so this is me getting back into the art scene now,” said Doyle.

She stated she was excited to get to continue her work and looking forward to futute art prospects coming her way. Anyone interested in seeing more photos of her art can check out her Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100056234156331.
