Douglas Matthews reported at 9:04 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, an acquaintance borrowed his car on Sept. 7 and refused to return it. The vehicle was recovered and returned to Matthews, according to the report.

Officers responded at 9:47 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, to a domestic disturbance in the 1300 block of Abington Street. The suspect fled the scene prior to officer arrival.

An employee at Family Dentistry of Poplar Bluff reported at 9:35 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, their business received harassing voice mail messages.

A vehicle was towed from the scene of a traffic stop at 2:47 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, after it was determined the driver’s license was expired and the vehicle was not insured. The driver was released at the scene, and traffic citations were mailed to them.

Thomasina Dunning, 41, of Poplar Bluff and Willie Blackmon, 48, of Poplar Bluff were arrested at 2:51 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at their residence in the 2100 block of Cross Street. Dunning and Blackmon were booked in on charges of domestic assault third degree and they were lodged in the Butler County jail.

Hailey Smith, 27, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 2:53 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the Probation and Parole Community Supervision Center at 1441 Black River Industrial Park Road. Smith was booked in on a Poplar Bluff municipal warrant for failure to appear on shoplifting ($279 bond) and a warrant for parole violation (no bond). She was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Bertha Cundiff, 18, of Harviell was arrested at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. Cundiff was booked in on a Poplar Bluff municipal warrant for failure to appear on stealing ($150 bond). Cundiff was not able to post bond and she was released on her own recognizance.

A juvenile reported at 5:48 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, an adult male acquaintance assaulted him and stole a remote control from his pocket.

Officers responded at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, to a residence in the 900 block of Cedar Street for a report of two overdose victims. A resident reported they administered two doses of Narcan to one of the victims before the called the police. Both victims were transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

A juvenile male reported at 7:02 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, he was assaulted by another juvenile at Eugene Field School playground. This matter was referred to the Juvenile Office, according to the report.

Matthew Kiefer reported at 9:02 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, his vehicles were vandalized while they were parked at his residence in the 800 block of Kinzer Street.

Scarlet Nelson, 31, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 11:03 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, during a traffic stop on East Pine Street. Nelson was booked in on a Poplar Bluff municipal warrant for failure to appear on no insurance ($100 bond) and she was released on bond.
