The Poplar Bluff Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will meet Thursday, Sept. 8, at 1:30 p.m. at the West Side Church of God, corner of Barron Road and Channon Drive. The public is invited to attend. For those interested, a “mini-genealogy workshop” convenes at 12:30, just prior to the regular meeting, hosted by Marcia Morse and Terry Temples.
Julie Braschler will present the program, “Daniel Chester French and the 100th Anniversary of the Lincoln Memorial.” Poplar Bluff High School Librarian Marcia Priest will inform the group about the Giving Closet at the high school.
Plans will be finalized for Constitution Week, and NSDAR school contest and scholarship information will be passed out to be delivered to area schools.
Any woman, age 18 or older, regardless of race, ethnic background or religion who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution is eligible to join. For more information, go to dar.org.
