Aaron Grace, 31, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 8:33 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, during a traffic stop at the intersection of PP Highway at Shelby Road. Grace was booked on a Butler County failure to appear warrant for a bad check and a Wayne County failure to appear warrant for stealing leased property. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

An employee at Municipal Utilities reported at 10:56 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, an electric meter was stolen from a residence in the 2000 block of Thomas Street.

Jacob Wilson reported at 12:46 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, another driver threatened him while he was stopped on Highway 53. Wilson refused to provide any further information to officers without his own attorney present. No further action was taken.

Officers responded at 12:50 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, to a residence in the 100 block of Hampton Court for a report of a domestic disturbance. No injuries were reported and neither party wanted to press charges.

Phillip Lawrence, 43, of Clarkton was booked at 2:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, in at the police department on a Poplar Bluff municipal failure to appear warrant for no insurance. Lawrence was unable to post bond but he was released on his own recognizance.

Donna Overbeck, 72, of Poplar Bluff was booked at 5:25 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, at the police department on a Poplar Bluff municipal failure to appear warrant for no insurance. Overbeck was unable to post bond but she was released on her own recognizance.

Rebecca Deboy reported at 6:07 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, she was harassed by a white male customer on the parking lot at Walmart Supercenter, 333 S. Westwood Blvd. The suspect was identified and charges were referred to the Butler County Prosecutor.

Employees at Walmart Supercenter, 333 S. Westwood Blvd., reported at 7:36 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, they received harassing and threatening messages and phone calls seeking personal information about a specific employee. The suspect was identified and the investigation continues.

Ashley Koonce reported at 8:11 p,m., Friday, Sept. 2, a trailer was stolen from the property at 2642 N. 14th St.

Two pistols, one with a defaced serial number, were seized at 11:28 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, during a traffic stop on Vine Street. The driver was unable to provide proof of insurance and the vehicle was impounded and towed. The occupants were released at the scene. The two juveniles were released to their parents.

Charlie Harrison, 24, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 3:40 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, on Grand Avenue on Poplar Bluff municipal failure to appear warrants for traffic offenses and possession of marijuana. Harrison was unable to post bond but he was released on his own recognizance.

Austin Turner, 23, of Naylor was arrested at 6:49 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at Jay’s Corner Store at 1040 S. Westwood Blvd. on a Jefferson County warrant for probation violation; a Pettis County warrant for probation violation; a Butler County failure to appear warrant for two counts of larceny; and Poplar Bluff municipal failure to appear warrants for traffic offenses. Turner was booked at the Butler County jail.

Brandon Harper reported his vehicle was struck at 8:47 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, while it was parked in the 800 block of Lester Street.

Vernon Pennington, 66, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 10:38 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, during a traffic stop on 53 Highway on a Poplar Bluff municipal failure to appear warrant for possession of marijuana. Pennington was unable to post bond but he was released on his own recognizance.

James Taylor, 35, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 12:41 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at the Probation and Parole Community Supervision Center at 1441 Black River Industrial Park Road on a Probation and Parole warrant for probation violation. He was lodged in the Butler County jail.

An employee at Green Light Dispensary, 1435 N. Westwood Blvd.. reported at 12:38 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, someone damaged a rooftop air conditioning unit in an apparent effort to gain entry to the building.

Officers responded at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, to a residence in the 3100 block of Warrior Lane for a report of a drug overdose. The victim was transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Jefferson Qualls, 47, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 9:35 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at a residence in the 1900 block of Greenwood Drive on charges of first degree kidnapping, second degree assault and second degree harassment. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Officers responded at 10:48 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, to a fire set outside a residence in the 1900 block of Arkansas Street. It was determined the fire was set by a juvenile living at the residence, and it got out of control; and that there was no intent to cause harm. This matter was referred to the Juvenile Office.

Roy Jones reported at 1:12 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, a suitcase was stolen from the Amtrak Depot at 400 S. Main St.

Officers responded at 2:49 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, to the Southeast Missouri Regional Center, 2351 Kanell Blvd., for a resident threatening to stab someone. The suspect attacked officers, but was subdued and transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for evaluation.

Shannon Hawkins reported at 10:16 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, a black male stole her Bible and cash while she was at Wheatley School, 921 Garfield St.

Lloyd Spencer, 48, of Poplar Bluff was booked at 3:43 a.m. Monday, Sept. 5, at the police department on a Poplar Bluff municipal failure to appear warrant for traffic offenses and stealing. Spencer was unable to post bond but he was released on his own recognizance.

Elizabeth McCluskey, 21, of Poplar Bluff was booked at 12:08 p.m. Monday, Sept. 5, in at the police department on Poplar Bluff municipal failure to appear warrants for stealing and property damage. McCluskey was unable to post bond but she was released on her own recognizance.

Clifford Brooks, 34, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 3:40 p.m. Monday, Sept. 5, in the 200 block of West Victor Street on Poplar Bluff municipal warrants for a weapon violation, domestic assault and resisting arrest. Brooks was unable to post bond but he was released on his own recognizance.

Keith Hodge reported at 6:56 p.m. Monday, Sept. 5, someone broke windows of his residence in the 900 block of Maud Street.

Raymond Morris reported at 7:14 pm Monday, Sept. 5, someone took a license plate from his vehicle while it was parked at his residence in the 600 block of Dewey Street.

Ashton Wallace, 18, and Zavion Dudley, 18, both of Poplar Bluff, and a juvenile were cited for minor in possession of alcohol at 12:21 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, during a traffic stop on Maud Street. The adults were released at the scene and the juvenile was released to a parent.

Brandy Bailey, 23, of Poplar Bluff was issued a criminal summons for possession of marijuana at 1:35 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Hendrickson Park.

Officers responded at 2:36 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, to a call of shots fired into a residence in the 1000 block of Nooney Street. While officers investigated that shooting, they heard shots fired nearby. The second scene was found in the 800 block of North 12th Street. The investigation continues.
