VAN BUREN — A 61-year-old Georgia man was killed Monday afternoon in a RV crash on U.S. Highway 60, one mile west of Van Buren, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. VAN BUREN — A 61-year-old Georgia man was killed Monday afternoon in a RV crash on U.S. Highway 60, one mile west of Van Buren, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

According to the report, William C. Chandler, 61, of Winston, Georgia, was operating a 2013 Freightliner RV westbound at 4:30 p.m. when it traveled off the right side of the road, overcorrected, traveled off the left side of the road and overturned.

Chandler was pronounced dead at 4:30 p.m. by Carter County corner Joe Ben Chapman. Chandler is the 18th fatality this year in Troop G. Chandler also was the fourth person to die on Southeast Missouri roads over the Labor Day weekend.
