“We feel like you shouldn’t have to wait three or four months to get your RV worked on, which is pretty much standing order anywhere and we can do it in a week, sometimes the same day,” said Scott Preslar, owner of Poplar Bluff RV, located at 3389 S. Westwood Blvd. in Poplar Bluff.
“A lot of people can’t wait three or four months to get their camper worked on — it was a service we saw a need for that wasn’t available, and we made it available,” Preslar said.
Poplar Bluff RV opened its doors at the current location March 1. Presler said the business so far has been great and he is happy to be able to serve the area.
PB RV has three technicians, “with 25 years of experience. We can do anything from redoing the floors, new air conditioners, wiring, refrigerator work — for anybody. You don’t have to buy the camper here, we’ll service it,” said Preslar.
They carry a full line of parts and can get parts overnight, “so any part that you need, we can get.”
The new business also offers a mobile service truck five days a week.
“We will go to your lot, your location, campground — if you don’t want to pull it in, we’ll come to you,” said Preslar.
When asked if he had run into the same problems as many other businesses getting parts or products, Preslar said it had not been an issue for them.
The business offers campers from North Trail, Road Warrior, Trail Runner, Coachman Catalina, Sundance, Milestone and Ibex. They offer financing, take trade-ins, buy campers and offer what Preslar referred to as “starter campers at a very reasonable price, all the way up to toy haulers.”
They also carry a full line of scooters, “the 49CC scooters, we give one of those with the purchase of a new camper,” said Preslar.
Operating hours for the business are from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The service department is open Monday through Friday during business hours.
Preslar went on to add he felt like he could offer service in the area that was not available.
“You don’t have to drive a 100 miles anymore to buy a camper, to get service work done or to get parts you can do it right here in Poplar Bluff, Missouri,” he said.
