Phillip Evans, 59, and Kari Smody, 40, both of Poplar Bluff, were arrested at 4:39 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, at Hobby Lobby, 715 N. Westwood Blvd. Evans was arrested on suspicion of stealing, Poplar Bluff municipal warrants for stealing, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and a warrant for parole violation. Smody was arrested on suspicion of stealing and a parole violation warrant. Both were booked at the Butler County jail.

Officers responded to an alarm at Dollar General Store at 903 Highway 53 at 11:16 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, The alarm company was able to provide a description of the suspect, and Clayton Bickford, 23, of Naylor, was arrested on suspicion of second degree burglary without incident a short distance from the store. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Jodi Flanigan, 39, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 12:27 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, during a traffic stop on West Midland Drive on a suspicion of possession of amphetamine. She was released pending review by the Butler County Prosecutor.

Officers responded at 3:55 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, to an ATM alarm at the Poplar Bluff Credit Union at 2438 Katy Lane. On their arrival, they found the ATM had been forced open. A pickup which appeared to have been used in the theft was found nearby. It was determined the truck was stolen from the 600 block of Hazel Street.

John Faughn, 46, of Poplar Bluff was arrested Tuesday, Aug. 9, at a residence in the 400 block of Highway 53 on charges of unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, armed criminal action, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana; and a Poplar Bluff municipal failure to appear warrant for traffic offenses. Faughn was booked at the Butler County jail. The arrest stemmed from the investigation of a domestic assault complaint.

Officers responded to Walmart Supercenter at 333 S. Westwood for a reported domestic assault at 9:18 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9. Camron Wilson, 20, of Poplar Bluff was issued a criminal summons for domestic assault. She was released at the scene.

Officers responded at 5:23 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, to the Internet Café at 30 Highway 142 for a complaint about a male patron harassing customers. The victims didn’t press charges and management banned the subject from the business.
POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT
Firefighters responded at 6:31 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, to 1948 Woodhaven to an outside equipment fire. According to the report, the homeowner, Gail Luke, had used a fire extinguisher to extinguish the grill, which was on fire before the crew arrived. Firefighters moved the propane cylinder further away from the home into a safe open area of the backyard. They used the thermal imaging camera to check the cylinder and determined only a small amount of liquid was left in the cylinder.

Firefighters responded at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, to a smoke detector activation at 955 Cynthia St. According to the report, there was no fire and the alarm was activated by smoke from cooking.

Firefighters responded at 4:34 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at 3482 S. Westwood Blvd. According to the report, the vehicle had left the roadway and struck a sign. Firefighters checked for injuries and administrated basic first aid until Butler County EMS arrived. They turned the patient over to EMS, but assisted with packaging and loading the patient.

Firefighters responded at 9:05 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, to an alarm sounding at 2080 Three Rivers Blvd. According to the report, there was no knowledge of the location and since nothing was found upon arrival, maintenance personnel responded. The alarm was in the Westover building, where the panel showed normal and there was no problem found.

He was booked at the Butler County jail on a 24-hour hold.

A 14-year-old boy sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, on Highway 49, one-eighth of a mile north of Piedmont.
According to the report, Aurora I. Cox, 18, of Piedmont was operating a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt eastbound when it failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a northbound 2006 Volvo Continental operated by David J. Linderman, 31, Van Buren.
A 14-year-old boy in Coxes car was transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Daya B. Doolittle, 51, of Dexter was arrested at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, in Dunklin County on a Clay County felony probation violation warrant, and on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and no seat belt. She was booked at the Dunklin County jail on a 24-hour hold.

A 25-year-old man sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, on County Road 414, four miles south of Puxico.
According to the report, Cai E. Washington, 25, of Piedmont was operating a 2005 International trash truck eastbound when it ran off the right side of the road and struck a bridge.
Washington was transported by private conveyance to Poplar Bluff urgent care.

Rachel L. Sisco, 39, of Doniphan was arrested at 7:44 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, in Ripley County on suspicion of DWI and failure to maintain the right half of the road. She was released.

A 17-year-old boy sustained moderate injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, on Highway K, 10 miles northeast of Ellington.
According to the report, the 17-year-old boy was operating a 1986 Ford F-150 westbound when it ran off the right side of the road and overturned.
The boy was transported by Air Ambulance to Mercy South in St. Louis.
