Joyce Dobbs Pearce transitioned into new life in the early hours Wednesday, Aug.10, 2022, at the age of 95 years at Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital after a short bout with cancer.
Born in St Louis, Missouri, in 1927, she lived most of her life in Poplar Bluff. She was the daughter of Harry and Clara (Feverston) Dobbs. She graduated from Poplar Bluff High School in 1945 and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church. Joyce worked for 14 years as a nurse’s aide in surgery at the old Poplar Bluff Hospital and later with her husband in his veterinarian practice.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara Hedspeth, of Louisville, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John Pearce, and granddaughter, Jennifer Futrell.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, 2022, at First Baptist Church, with Pastor Brandon Spain officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
