Joyce Marie Dunscomb (Scott), 79, of Omaha, Arkansas, went to her eternal home on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, with her husband by her side.
Joyce was born Dec. 14, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Durward “D.B” and Hazel Scott. She lived in Qulin, Missouri until 1962 when she married the love of her life, Kenley Dunscomb. Kenley and Joyce began their married life while Kenley was in the military. Traveling from coast to coast and all over the world, they began their family and had four daughters.
While in the military, Kenley became a minister, and they started their life’s journey of pastoring in various churches in the states of Missouri, Florida, and Iowa. Joyce was a woman who loved God, her husband, children, grandchildren, and family. She loved being a pastor’s wife and supported her husband in ministry. She also was a licensed Minister and shared her love of God with everyone. She was a Proverbs 31 wife and lived it daily. Her love for her husband Kenley, could be seen all over her face when he walked into the room, while she sat on a church pew listening to his sermons or just holding his hand while watching television. She never left the house without an “I love you” and a kiss. As Alzheimer’s began to take control, his voice was the one she recognized until the very end.
The love she had for her daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren was never ending. She raised all four daughters to be strong women of God and prayed for them daily. Her grandchildren were the “apple of her eye” and each one held a special place in her heart.
Joyce is survived by her husband: Kenley Dunscomb; four daughters: Holly (Jim) Pruett of Des Moines, Idaho, Dawn Dunscomb of Omaha, Arkansas, Lucretia (Mark) Hoffman of Ankeny, Iowa, and Shawn Dunscomb of West Des Moines, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and seven siblings: Sue (Frank) Wright, Joan Clark, Johnny (Linda) Scott, Kenny Scott, Freddy (Jeanetta) Scott, Debbie (Rick) Robison, and Freda (Doyle) Scott.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother: Thomas G. Scott.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022, at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Qulin with Rev. Gerald Berger and Rev. August Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow at Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton, Missouri
