Four Southeast Missouri residents were injured in a pair of motor vehicle accidents Monday, two of them seriously, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Four Southeast Missouri residents were injured in a pair of motor vehicle accidents Monday, two of them seriously, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The first accident occurred at 1:30 p.m. in Johnson County in west central Missouri, two miles south of Kingsville at the intersection of Highway T and Southwest 400th Road.

According to the MSHP, Bradley J. Toole, 39, of Poplar Bluff was operating a 2018 Honda CBR600 motorcycle northbound when it traveled off the right side of the road, began to overturn and ejected Toole. The motorcycle came to rest facing west.

Toole was seriously injured and transported by Johnson County EMS to Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

The second accident occurred at 6:25 p.m. on Highway 21, two miles north of Centerville.

According to the MSHP, Robert W. Orzel, 47, of Ellington was operating a 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 southbound when it crossed the center of the road and sideswiped a northbound 1997 Chevrolet 3500 operated by Steven L. Sutton, 44, of Centerville.

Orzel was seriously injured and was transported by Air Evac to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, while Sutton sustained minor injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Iron County Medical Center in Pilot Knob.

A passenger in Sutton’s truck, Russ A. Pilkington, 50, of Ellington, also sustained minor injuries and was transported by Iron County Ambulance to Iron County Medical Center.
