CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — Gunner Collins won three individual events to win top honors for his age division while Sophie Johnson was also first to touch the wall in an event for the Poplar Bluff swim team.
The Piranhas finished fourth in the team standings at the Southeast Missouri Swim Conference championships.
Kennett won the team title with 6,009.5 points followed by River City (3,552.5), Farmington (2,021) and Poplar Bluff (1,795).
Gunner Collins scored the most points of any swimmer in the 8-under boys divisions. He won the 25 and 50-yard freestyle along with the 25-backstroke, lowering his time in each.
Johnson won the 50-backstroke in the 9-10 girls division with her fastest time of 51.92 seconds.
Dakota Collins was fourth in points in the 11-12 girls division while KK Willis was fifth in the 13-14 girls division.
Willis finished second in the 100-butterfly with her fastest time and also lowered times in the 50-freestyle, finishing third, and the 100-freestyle to place fifth.
Dakota Collins was second in the 50-butterfly, had her fastest time in the 100-individual medley to place third and was fourth in the 50-backstroke.
The Piranhas 15-18 boys 200-freestyle relay of Teagan Kassing, Henry Duncan, Cyrus Sagharichi and Darius Sagharichi placed second, 1.07 seconds behind Kennett, with their fastest time. They also placed third in the 200-medley relay.
The 8-under boys relay of Gunner Collins, Matthew Lance, Liam Bates and Ben Johnson placed second in the 100-freestyle by 1.16 seconds behind Kennett.
In the 8-under girls division, Willa Cisne had her fastest times in three events, placing fourth in the 25-freestyle and fifth in the 25-butterfly and 50-freestyle. Blair Shelton also cut time in three events with a fourth place finish in the 25-backstroke. Kynlee Dunlap had her fastest time in three events with an eighth place finish in the 25-backstroke. Kyra Rommel placed ninth in the 25-butterfly, Raylee Barnett finished 10th in the 25-breaststroke, Luna Matthews-Fratesi placed 11th in two events, lowering her time, Presley Wilson finished 12th in the backstroke, Caroline Johnson was 13th in the butterfly, Olivia Fish lowered her time in two events while Dani Torres was faster in one.
In the 8-under boys division, Lance placed fourth in the 25-freestyle and fifth in the 50, lowering his time in both. Eli Cisne was faster in two events, finishing seventh in the backstroke. Ben Johnson was 11th in the backstroke while Liam Bates lowered his times in three events, finishing 12th in the backstroke.
In the 9-10 division, Sophie Johnson lowered her times in three events, Addy Tibbs was sixth in the 50-backstroke with her fastest time, Laura Reese was faster in one event and finished 10th in the 100-freestyle while Serena Fish lowered her time in two events. Matt Pestillos lowered his time in three events, finishing sixth in the 50-butterfly while Noah Vick was faster in one event and placed 14th in the breaststroke.
In the 11-12 division, Parker Hays placed third in the 50-butterfly and also lowered his time in the backstroke to place sixth. Zach Pestillos placed seventh in the 100-IM and lowered his 100-freestyle time. Claire Faries had her fastest times in two events, placing 11th in the backstroke, Olivia Shackleford was faster in all three of her events, Kelsey Dunlap placed 10th in the butterfly while Jessica Vick and Lilly Torres lowered their times in two events.
In the 13-14 division, Teagan Kassing finished second in the 50-freestyle, third in the backstroke and fifth in the breaststroke. Connor Wiggs placed third in the 100-freestyle, lowering his times in all three events, Axel Tamez was ninth in the 50-freestyle with his fastest time while Mauricio Tamez was seventh in the butterfly. Maclaren Moore placed fourth in the 200-IM and fifth in the 100-butterfly with her fastest times. Gracie Brown placed sixth in the backstroke and seventh in the IM while Kinsley Gibbs lowered her times in three events, placing 11th in two.
In the 15-18 division, Cyrus Sagharichi was fourth in the backstroke, fifth in the 50-freestyle and sixth in the 100-freestyle. Darius Sagharichi placed fourth in the butterfly, fifth in the 200-IM and sixth in the breaststroke. Henry Duncan placed fifth in the breaststroke and also lowered his 50-freestyle time.
