JoAnn Precht French, 84, of Jefferson City, formerly of Mexico and Malden, passed away on July 9, 2022, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
A private graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Mexico. Pickering Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Jo Ann was born Oct. 26, 1937, in Mexico, the daughter of Louis and Pauline (Hawkins) Precht.
Jo Ann was a graduate of Jefferson City High School with the class of 1954. She worked for many years as the administrative assistant to the superintendent of the Malden School District.
Survivors include three sons, Lee L. (Margaret) French, of Lake Bluff, Illinois, Bradley J. (Angela) French, of Southaven, Mississippi, and Jake E. (Laura) Santie, of Columbia, Missouri; one daughter, Stacey A. French, of Jefferson City; one brother, Bill Precht, of Kansas City, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, Kyle French of Columbia, Missouri; Sam French (and Erin) of Highland Park, Illinois; William French of Los Angeles, California; Martin French and Anna French, both of Chicago, Illinois; Molly French of New York, New York; Julianna French of Southaven, Mississippi; Sarah Joost of Jefferson City, Missouri; Benjamin French of Southaven, Mississippi; Lydia Santie and Eliza Santie, both of Columbia, Missouri; and two great-grandchildren: Miles and Casey of Highland Park, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Marilyn Stevenson, and Patricia Bremmerkamp.
