Poplar Buff High School graduate Tianna Hall-Patton has been awarded the $3,500 Reddy Family Scholarship, reserved for a Poplar Bluff High School graduating minority student of need and merit pursuing education at a four-year college.
Hall-Patton plans to major in nutrition and exercise physiology at the University of Missouri in Columbia, and become an athletic trainer one day. She has been a track and field standout at PBHS and learned to persevere, despite relocating multiple times throughout her education career, she detailed in her essay.
“I am choosing this career because health is extremely important to me and I love the study of movement,” Hall-Patton wrote in part. “Sports are a huge part of my life and I would love to work with athletes to help prevent or treat injuries.”
Born in Poplar Bluff and having graduated with the Class of 1993, Dr. Vin Reddy founded The Reddy Family Scholarship in collaboration with his wife, Dr. Mitva Patel.
