Mr. Boswell was born Feb. 21, 1939, in Qulin, Missouri. He was the son of the late Garland and Lois Boswell. He attended Qulin High School where he participated in sports and FFA. In 1956 he entered the Air Force and was trained as a welder. He was then stationed in Puerto Rico for his four years of service.

Shortly after leaving the Air Force, he met Bettye Lynn Rice. They were united in marriage later that year on Nov. 26, 1960. Of this union, one son: Kevin E. Boswell was born. In 1974, Curt purchased property in Naylor and constructed a 40’x80’ building that became Boswell Farm and Hardware Store, which he owned and operated for over 25 years in partnership with his son. He was very active in the communities he lived in, serving on the Mercantile Bank board in Doniphan, the Naylor Lion’s Club, School Board, City Council, and Drainage District. He was also active in the Young Farmer’s organizations. Curt and Bettye had been active in church in each of the areas they lived in.

He was a member of Naylor 1st Christian Church, St. Benedict in Doniphan, and then St. Joseph in Billings, Missouri. They were also members of the Doniphan Country Club for many years. Lifelong friendships were built all over southeast Missouri during this time in their lives. They built a house on Current River in the 90s where they enjoyed many years making memories with their family. Curt also enjoyed fishing and playing golf. After retiring, they enjoyed years of traveling in their camper until settling down in Republic, Missouri in 2010 to be close to family.
