Kermitt “Pappy” W. Willis, Jr., of Ellsinore, Missouri, passed away Friday, June 3, 2022, at his home.
Pappy was born Nov. 13, 1952, in Poplar Bluff, to Kermitt W. and Anna “Margie” Willis. He attended the Thousand Hills Cowboy Church in Fisk and was a retired truck driver. Pappy enjoyed playing the guitar, writing songs that he truly believed in, reading, western movies and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. The times he treasured most were times spent with his family, especially his four grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Joshua (Melody) Willis and Travis (Pam) Willis; four grandchildren, Taylor Willis, Nathan Willis, Jordan Willis, and Anna Willis; two brothers, Tom (Pam) Willis of Patterson, Missouri and Haven (Theresa) Willis of Des Arc, Missouri; and three sisters, Jane (Kerry) Brook and LouEllen (Bruce) Goin of Poplar Bluff and Paula (Bruce) McAllister also of Des Arc.
Pappy was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Burley Allen Willis.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Ashcraft Cemetery off Highway 53 in Butler County. A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Kevin Murray officiating.
