BAINBRIDGE, Ga. — Jerry Don “Smokie” Wilson, 75, of Bainbridge, Georgia, formerly of Campbell and surrounding areas, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at his residence in Bainbridge, Georgia. BAINBRIDGE, Ga. — Jerry Don “Smokie” Wilson, 75, of Bainbridge, Georgia, formerly of Campbell and surrounding areas, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at his residence in Bainbridge, Georgia.

Smokie, son of Robert McKinley and Mary Elizabeth Smith Wilson, was born on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 1946, in Holcomb, Missouri.

He was a business owner and was a member of the Faceville Baptist Church in Faceville, Georgia.

On Feb. 19, 1964, in East St. Louis, Illinois, he was united in marriage to Jane Bledsoe Wilson. She preceded him in death on Dec. 30, 2021. He was also preceded in death by his son, Jerry Dale Wilson, who passed on July 28, 2014.

Survivors include, two daughters, Beth Sloan and husband, Mike of Bainbridge, Gale Wilson-Tyre and husband, Paul of Bainbridge; one son, Darian Wilson and wife, Katrina of Winder, Georgia; 13 grandchildren, Joey Sloan, Jeri Sloan, Luci Sloan, JW Goodman, Jr., Gus Goodman, Caleb Wilson, Coleman Wilson, Lane Wilson, Sara Shepard (Dustin), Jack Wilson, Mollie Wilson, Thomas Wilson, Zander Wilson; three great-grandchildren, Christopher Wilson, Sophia Shepard, Wyatt Dale Shepard; three brothers, Terry Wilson and wife, Glenda of Chipley, Florida, Hal Wilson and wife, Monta of Horizon City, Texas and Gerald Wilson and wife, Sheila of Rancho Cordova, California; mother-in-law, Agnes Bledsoe and sister-in-law, Linda Bledsoe both of Campbell.

In addition to his wife and son, he was also preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Sara Jane, Katie June, Robert Paul and Susan Grace Sloan; siblings, Carl Wilson, Essie Blair, Euel Wilson, Buel Wilson, Sybil Boettcher, Evenell Oxley, Bobbie Wilson and Bonnie Beltz.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, June 3, 2022, at Landess Funeral Chapel in Campbell with Reverend Shiela Boyles officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery-Landess Addition in Campbell, Missouri.

Landess Funeral Home of Campbell will be in charge of the arrangements.
