Flag free Russell Dale Dicken, 63, of Jacksonville, North Carolina passed away unexpectedly on May 23, 2022, after a brief illness.
Russell was born on Dec. 15, 1958, to Bob and Jean Dicken in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. After graduating from Poplar Bluff High School, Russ spent four years serving with the U.S. Army. He has been a swing boat captain for Marquette Transportation since 1997.
Russell loved spending time fishing, playing pool, floating, going to the beach and driving his Corvette. Russell was well known for his daring and love of adventure. His greatest joys were helping others and spending time with his many friends and family.
Russell was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Dicken; father, Bob Dicken; grandson, Gunnar Dicken; and first wife Kathryn Toellner.
Russell is survived by mother, Jean Dicken; daughter, Tara Dicken; sons, Jason Stacy (Diana), Bobby Dicken, Zach Dicken (Laura); grandsons, Luca and Aarik Stacy; granddaughters, Lara, Sora, and Ariel Dicken; brothers, Roy Dicken (Lisa), Rich Dicken (Melanie), sister Jeana Cox (John); nephews, Ryan Dicken, Mitchell Cox, Hunter Dicken, Cole Dicken; nieces, Kenzie Dicken, Maddie Dicken; and many close friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 28, 2022, at the Fowler Sullivan Funeral in Poplar Bluff. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. followed by the service at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Dicken Cemetery.
