Adam M. Bishop, 29, of Poplar Bluff was booked at the Butler County jail Tuesday, May 17, on a capias warrant.

Butler County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a report on a stolen Polaris UTV. It was reported stolen at 6:20 p.m. Sunday, May 15, in the 1800 block of County Road 470.

MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL

A 29-year-old woman sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 11:20 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, on U.S. Highway 160, four miles east of Doniphan.

According to the report, Channelle A. Barnett, 29, of Doniphan was operating a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound when it struck the towed unit of an eastbound Ford tractor operated by Rodney W. Hoefer, 61, of Doniphan.

Barnett was transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

William P. Gleason, 64, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 5:22 p.m. Tuesday, May 17. on suspicion of felony DWI, felony driving while revoked, littering and no insurance. He was booked at the Butler County jail on a 24-hour hold.

POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT

Poplar Bluff firefighters responded to a two-vehicle accident with injuries at 9.29 a.m. Monday, May 16, at 3525 S. Westwood Blvd. Firefighters checked for injuries and assisted Butler County Emergency Medical Services with packaging and loading patients before clearing debris off the roadway, Also on the scene were Poplar Bluff Police, the Butler County Sheriff’s Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Firefighters responded to a motor vehicle accident at 10:59 a.m. Monday, May 16, on East Pine Boulevard at Sportsman’s Park along with Poplar Bluff Police and Butler County EMS. The guardrail was gone from the east side of the bridge. A pickup truck was on its side in the westbound lane. The occupant had crawled out of the sunroof and refused transport by EMS. Firefighters blocked traffic at the scene until the truck could safely be located on the wrecker and cleared.

Firefighters responded to a request by the Poplar Bluff Police Department at 2:51 p.m. Monday, May 16, to assist in searching for a 3-year-old who was missing in the 600 block of Pershing Street. Butler County Sheriff’s Department brought in a canine. The child who had wandered away from home was located at about 3:31 p.m.

Firefighters responded to an unintentional fire alarm transmission at Kneibert Clinic, 686 Lester St., at 8:03 a.m. Tuesday, May 17. Fire crews learned construction on the first floor created dust which set off the alarm. Workers were advised to take the alarm out of service while construction work was going on.

Firefighters responded at 10:42 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, to Hampton Inn, 2420 Crestwood Drive, where the dust from construction workers cutting concrete unintentionally set off the fire alarm.

Firefighters responded at 6:58 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, to a motor vehicle accident on North Westwood Boulevard. Upon arrival, fire crews checked the scene and the occupants of both vehicles, provided first aid, cleared the road of debris and fluids using 50 gallons of water.

Firefighters responded to a fire alarm at 2501 Sunset Terrace at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, to learn construction workers had hit a line while digging and set off the alarm.

Firefighters responded to 707 Dewey St., at 8:35 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, to someone burning something in the backyard. They noticed a small trash fire behind the house. They informed the renter, Krysta Arnold, that residents are not allowed to burn trash inside the city limits. Firefighters used the booster line and 20 gallons of water to extinguish the trash fire.

Firefighters responded at 11:08 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, to Shelby Road to a grass fire behind the hospital. The fire was an authorized controlled burn at a construction site behind the hospital where land was being cleared.

Firefighters assisted an officer about 1 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, removing a body from a house in the 300 block of South 11th Street.

Firefighters responded to an accident with a vehicle in the ditch with unknown injuries at 3:45 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, at Thomas and Henry streets. Upon arrival they found a vehicle upside down in the ditch. The vehicle was empty and was not a hazard.
