Courtney L. Phillips, 41, of the 200 block of Inman Drive was arrested at 11 p.m. Friday, May 6, on two failure to appear warrants, one from New Madrid County on a moving traffic violation and one from Butler County for no valid license. She was booked at the Butler County jail.

Bobby J. Cooper, 45, of the 5000 block of Nellie Sue Circle was arrested at 12:18 a.m. Saturday, May 7, at a business in the 2200 block of S. Westwood Blvd. on suspicion of attempting to steal approximately 36 tires. He transported to the police station where he was booked and processed prior to being transported to the Butler County jail.

Justin J. Jackson, 27, of Jackson and Bradley A. Ward, 26, of the 100 block of Big Eddy were arrested about 11:40 a.m. Saturday, May 7, following a traffic stop at Ninth and Spring streets. The orange Chevrolet truck allegedly has improper registration. Ward, the driver, had a warrant for property damage. Jackson, who was a passenger, had a failure to appear warrant.

Jytearius F. Graham, 24, of the 1000 block of Tremont was arrested at 4:02 p.m. Sunday, May 8, on suspicion of stealing and resisting or interfering with an arrest, and two failure to appear warrants for being an owner operating a motor vehicle without maintaining financial responsibility and driving white revoked or suspended. He was transported from Walmart property and was booked at the Butler County jail.

Amanda G. Tippen, 38, of the 2600 block of Russell Road was arrested at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, May 8, at Walmart, 333 S. Westwood Blvd., on suspicion of burglary, stealing and a Stoddard County warrant. She was transported to the Poplar Bluff Police Department for processing and was booked at the Butler County jail.

Tammy G. Mellon, 56, of 1400 block of Tremont was arrested on a warrant at 10:54 p.m. Sunday, May 6, at 521 W. Midland. Once she was told she under arrest, she stated she had a broken hand and was suicidal. Due to her statement, Mellon was transported to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for evaluation. After she was evaluated and found to be fit for confinement, she was transported to the Butler County Jail were she was booked, processed and lodged.

Donna M. Schultz, 37, of Poplar Bluff was arrested Monday, May 9, on a Wayne County failure to appear warrant during a traffic stop at Ninth and Lester streets. She was lodged in the Butler County jail.
POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT
Firefighters responded at 1:29 p.m. Thursday, May 5, to 713 Ethel St., to an unintentional transmission of an alarm. Smoke from the stove had set off the alarm.

Firefighters responded to Highway 142 to a truck on the side of the road possibly about to turn over in the ditch at 3:22 p.m. Friday, May 6. When firefighters arrived, they found a tree trimming service vehicle that had gotten off on the soft shoulder and was unable to get out. A wrecker service was called and fire apparatus was used to block traffic until the truck could be pulled back on the roadway. They left the scene at 4 p.m.

Firefighters responded at 3:49 p.m. Friday, May 6, to Northwest Medical Center, 2210 Barron Road. After checking everything, it was determined it was a system malfunction when the system temporarily lost service. Firefighters left the scene at 4:01 p.m.

Firefighters were canceled Friday, May 6, while enroute to 506 Hazel St. Butler County Emergency Medical Services crew was trapped in the elevator. BCEMS was able to get out of the elevator. The first call came in at 3.50 p.m. and the second call at 3:54 p.m.

Firefighters responded to 1334 Davis St. to a carbon monoxide incident at 4:16 p.m. Friday, May 6. Spire Gas also responded. Both PBFD and Spire crews checked the location and nothing was found.

Firefighters responded to a motor vehicle accident with no injuries at 11:55 a.m. Saturday at Ninth and Kinzer streets. The accident involved two vehicles with one car running off the road and through a privacy fence into someone’s backyard.
According to reports, all occupants were out of the vehicles and no one was injured so the second engine company was canceled. The original firefighters remained at the scene until they vehicle could be removed from the yard and loaded onto a wrecker.

Firefighters responded at 12:34 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, to a fire alarm sounding at 1805 Indiana Avenue. Firefighters found nothing when they checked the apartment. The malfunctioning alarm was removed from service, but two functioning alarm units were in the apartment.

Firefighters responded at 1:07 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, to a fire alarm sounding at 1023 S. 11th St. Nothing was showing from the exterior. They made contact with the resident, who stated the alarm would go off intermittently. The firefighters left two battery-powered units with the resident and advised calling housing maintenance in the morning.

A 33-year-old man sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 9:55 p.m. Friday, May 6, on Highway T, three miles south of U.S. Highway 160.
According to the report, Jason M. Shrum, 33, of Doniphan was operating a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix northbound when it ran off the road and struck a ditch.
Shrum was taken via ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Zackery D. Walker, 39, of Stilwell, Oklahoma, was arrested at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 7, in Dunklin County on a failure to appear warrant for no driver’s license and failure to display license plates. He was booked at the Dunklin County jail.

Tyler J. Dixon, 28, of Dexter was arrested at 1:05 p.m. Saturday, May 7, in Stoddard County on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, failure to register a motor vehicle, no insurance and no seat belt. He was booked at the Stoddard County jail on a 24-hour hold.

Shaw, 33, of Williamsville was arrested at 6:46 p.m. Saturday, May 7, in Wayne County on a Greene County, Arkansas, felony warrant for a probation violation, a Wayne County misdemeanor failure to appear warrant for DWI and on suspicion of no driver’s license. He was booked at the Wayne County jail.

Two people sustained moderate injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 6:40 a.m. Sunday, May 8, at the intersection of Highway 51 and Highway J, two miles south of Puxico.
According to the report, Jason E. Buff, 47, of Springdale, Arkansas, was operating a 2013 Ford F-150 eastbound when it ran off the right side of the road and struck a ditch.
Buff and a passenger, Penny N. Chaffin, 42, of Springdale, Arkansas, were transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
At 7:30 a.m. Sunday, May 8, Buff was arrested in Stoddard County on suspicion of felony DWI (alcohol) resulting in physical injury, failure to stop at a stop sign and careless and imprudent driving resulting in a crash. He was released for medical treatment.

Dylan C. Means, 22, of Marble Hill was arrested at 1:21 p.m. Sunday, May 8, in Stoddard County on a misdemeanor Dexter failure to appear warrant and on suspicion of no seat belt. He was booked at the Dexter Police Department.

David A. Willcut, 51, of Doniphan was arrested at 4:19 p.m. Sunday, May 8, in Ripley County on suspicion of felony driving while revoked, failure to register with the Department of Revenue and displaying the plates of another person. He was released.

A 20-year-old man sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, May 8, on Highway WW, two miles north of Campbell.
According to the report, Cesar Marquez, 20, of Malden was operating a 2014 Honda motorcycle southbound when it struck an animal and overturned.
Marquez was transported by EMS to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

A 33-year-old woman sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 8:42 a.m. Monday, May 9, on U.S. Highway 160, five miles east of Doniphan. According to the report, Michael V. Truitt, 33, of Doniphan was operating a 1995 Chevrolet 1500 pickup northbound when it pulled into the path of a westbound 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by Jennifer L. Gentry, 33, of Doniphan. A road sign also was damaged in the crash.
Gentry was transported by private conveyance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Crandell, 21, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 12:38 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, in Stoddard County on suspicion of first degree felony tampering with a motor vehicle, exceeding the posted speed limit, a window tint violation, no seat belt and failure to display valid plates. He was booked at the Stoddard County jail on a 24-hour hold.
