FISK, Mo. — David Jon Risinger, 80, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, died Friday, May 6, 2022 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Risinger was born March 18, 1942 in Charlotte, Michigan, son of the late Walter and Roxie Risinger. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War and had 10 years on active duty. He retired from the Navy Reserves as chief warrant officer. David was a dispatcher with the Missouri Highway Patrol for 25 years. He was also a member of the U.S. Naval Cryptologic Veterans Association. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by one son: Jon David (Erin) Risinger of Poplar Bluff; one daughter: Alita Renee Risinger of Temple, Texas; three grandchildren: Michael Andrew (Jordan) Hurst of Pensacola, Florida, Lexy Jade Rowland of Poplar Bluff, and James Tyler Risinger of Temple, Texas; and one great-grandson: Eric Wolf-Scott Hurst of Pensacola.
He also was also preceded in death by one daughter: Kristy Lynn Rowland.
Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Adam Mathias officiating. Burial will be in the Missouri State Veteran’s Cemetery at Bloomfield, Missouri.
