Three people were seriously injured in a trio of accidents that occurred Saturday and Sunday in Butler, Ripley and Stoddard counties, according to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The first accident occurred at 7:36 p.m. Saturday on Highway 25, two miles south of Dexter.

According to the MSHP, Alan L. Hart, 72, of Bloomfield was operating a 2004 Ford Expedition northbound when it ran off the right side of the road, struck a culvert, became airborne and struck a ditch.

Hart was transported by Air Evac to Memphis, (Tennessee) Regional Medical Center.

The second accident occurred at 12:48 p.m. Sunday on U.S. Highway 60, six miles west of Ellsinore.

According to the MSHP, Michael W. Farrar, 38, of Ellsinore was operating a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche southbound when it failed to yield and pulled into the path of a westbound 2019 Jeep Renegade operated by Aaron K. Shemonia, 28, of Ellsinore.

A 7-year-old female in Shemonia’s Renegade suffered serious injuries, while another 9-year-old female passenger in the Renegade sustained moderate injuries. Additionally, Shemonia and two more passengers — Catherine A. Sertl, 29, of Dexter and a 5-year-old male — sustained minor injuries.

The 7-year-old female was transported by Air Ambulance to St. Louis Children’s Hospital, while the others were taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

The third accident occurred at 7:45 p.m. Sunday on County Road U-5, three miles north of Currentview in Ripley County.

According to the MSHP, a 16-year-old male was operating a 2013 Honda CRF northbound when it slid on the gravel road and ejected him.

The 16-year-old male was taken by Air Evac to St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
