Charles ‘Rick’ Odell Wells, 85, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at his residence.
Rick was born Jan. 17, 1937, in Poplar Bluff to Alma Talley Payne and raised by his stepfather, Foster Earl Payne
Rick was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, with time served in Alaska. He lived in Connecticut, New York before retiring and moving back to Missouri. He worked as an auto mechanic for over 44 years. Rick had a lifelong love of fishing, boating, and traveling. He also enjoyed music, dancing and reading western books.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie-Lee Wells; four stepchildren, Kelly, Tony, Todd, and Kenny; three brothers, Richard, Floyd and Jimmie Payne; several grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
