CAMPBELL, Mo. — James Johnson, Jr., 94, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
James, son of James and Ader Neeley Johnson, was born on Thursday, April 12, 1928 in Holcomb, Missouri.
He was owner of many businesses, was of the Christian Faith and was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War.
His survivors include son, Danny Gene Johnson (Colleen) of Georgia; daughter, Joni Kellar (Pat) of Maryland; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Edwards and husband, Jimmy, of Fisk; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Imogene Wilburn and Jerris Wilson.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., Monday, May 2, 2022 at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell, with funeral service beginning at 12:30 p.m., at the funeral chapel in Campbell. Burial will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Landess Funeral Home of Campbell will be in charge of the arrangements.
