George Nathan Blankenship, 56, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 8, 2022, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Nathan was born Aug. 3, 1965, in Troy, Missouri, to George and Annette Sawyer Blankenship. He was a graduate of Hayti High School, and in 1984 he joined the U.S. Navy eager to see the world. During his tenure he achieved rank of Petty Officer 3rd class, Hospital Corpsman.
Over the years, he worked at Nordyne in Poplar Bluff and Plastene Supply Company in Portageville before becoming disabled. Nathan enjoyed listening to music, watching football, especially his favorite team Green Bay Packers and his all-time favorite football player Aaron Rodgers. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved camping out with his friends and fishing. His favorite pastime was being with his family and friends.
Nathan is survived by two children, Seth Blankenship and Celeste Blankenship Moreno; a brother Kelly (Tina) Blankenship; two sisters, Teresa Hefner and Frances Prewett; four grandchildren, Anthony and Andrew Blankenship and Lillian and Elijah Moreno; and nine nieces and nephews, James, Jessica, Brianna, Jordan, Jack, Carter, Averi, Max and Norah.
His parents preceded him in death.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
